Caring for The Ultimate Rose
To lengthen the life of your rose's follow these simple steps:
Testimonials
  1. Display your roses in a cool location away from direct sunlight and drafts.
  2. Cut your rose stems under water or running water about one inch from the bottom at an angle.
  3. Mix included rose food packet with room temperature water in vase.
  4. Take off any leaves that will be below the waterline. Rotting leaves and debris in your vase can contaminate the water.
  5. (Water containing measurable amounts of salt will kill your flowers and should be avoided. Water from homes with a soft water system is not suitable for your fresh flowers. Smoke from cigarettes and ripening fruit contain harmful gases that will shorten your flowers vase life.) After a day or two the stems will start to brown. Keep your flowers living longer by cutting them and changing the water.
Cutting Your Roses

Roses in vase arrangements should be cut every couple of days. With pruning shears, cut about an inch off the end of each stem. Hold the end of each stem under running water or submerge the stem in water while cutting at an angle. This will prevent the stem-end from drawing in air. Be careful not to cut through or scrape the green bark on the outside of the stem. The water will not travel through the stem past the damaged point. This will cause the rose to die. In your vase, mix one packet of floral preservative (included with your roses from The Ultimate Rose) in cold water. Save the extra preservative solution to add to your roses when you are ready to change the water. Repeat these steps in a day or two.
